Records Request Routing

The sheriff's public-records policy requires the official form, Alabama residency proof, and in-person submission at the Sheriff's Office Administration Division. Requests are deemed received at the physical office. The sheriff states that unsolicited email or other electronic requests do not receive a response due to cybersecurity and safety concerns.

The District Attorney's Office handles DA-held records at 2311 Gateway Drive, Opelika, AL 36801, but filings, orders, and dispositions available through AlaCourt should be requested from the Circuit Clerk. The Circuit Clerk form says Lee County court records only and cannot supply federal, municipal, or other-county records.
